Director of Industries
Safety is especially important at Bosma, where 90% of the production employees are blind or visually impaired. That’s one reason why Bill Amrine takes his duties supervising Bosma’s production employees and line leaders so seriously. As Director of Industries and Services for Bosma, Bill is responsible for ensuring the safety of employees, as well as keeping productivity at the level necessary to meet customers’ demands.
In addition to being the direct supervisor of production staff, Bill maintains large inventories and serves as the liaison between Bosma and customers for all contract jobs.
Not content to rest on his laurels, he spends a portion of his time studying ways to improve productivity and production line configurations. One of the reasons Bill can do such an effective job of configuring production lines for employees who are blind or visually impaired is that Bill is blind himself.
Before joining Bosma, Bill was an owner operator in a small trucking business. Operating his own business taught Bill to manage time effectively and work with a wide range of personalities. When diabetes caused Bill to lose his vision and give up his business, he brought his considerable skills to a grateful Bosma.
