Debbie Waller

Community-Based Instructor

Deborah Waller

Debbie Waller’s job is to get out of the office!  As a Community-Based Instructor, she goes to the homes of clients, meets with them and together they determine the areas of need.  She gives clients information about assistive technology devices, how to obtain them, and how they will help improve their level of independence.

She then writes a teaching plan incorporating the assistive technology devices and goals that she and the client have discussed.  Debbie’s goal is to see the client every two weeks depending on the level of need.

The counties Debbie serves are Brown, Clay, Greene, Hendricks, Lawrence, Marion, Monroe,

Morgan, Owen, Putnam, Sullivan and Vigo.

Experience
Debbie has worked with developmentally disabled adults as a habilitation tech, a QMRP, residential services director, program developer and director of a latchkey program, and as a child abuse and neglect investigator for DCFS in Illinois.

Education
Eastern Illinois University, B.S., Family Services

Debbie has a daughter, Krysti, who attends Lawrence Central High School. She also has a younger sister, brother and sister-in-law in Illinois and an older brother living in Florida.  When not working she spends her time with her daughter and enjoying life with other Christians.

Together, we are making the world a better place for people who are blind!
