Job Readiness And Placement Program
Bosma’s Job Readiness Program works with individuals to develop a strategy in achieving their employment goals, reflected through an individualized plan for employment. The full-service program provides resume and cover letter writing, interviewing techniques and job leads. Job leads come from several sources: the internet, cold calls, and direct leads from employers. While preparing for an interview, individuals are counseled on the types of questions to ask during an interview, the manner in which to conduct themselves, and how to handle questions that may arise regarding their disability. The placement staff also works closely with employers. We educate them about the awareness of visual impairments and also perform task analysis in order to assist in the coordination of job modification efforts. The staff is also frequently contacted by employers to assist in the retention of a current employee experiencing job changes due to vision loss. Individuals who are in need of supportive employment may receive ongoing job coaching to assist with integration into the workplace. |
